The basics

What is OutVQ?

OutVQ is an Android app for keeping your commitments in one calm place. You capture a task by typing or speaking, give it a time or a place, and look at what matters next.

Do I need an account?

No. There is nothing to sign up for, and OutVQ does not ask for your name or email address.

Which devices does it work on?

Android phones and tablets. There is no iPhone or iPad version.

Is OutVQ on Google Play?

Not at the moment. You download the APK file from this website and install it yourself. The steps are in the install guide on the home page.

Installing

How do I install the APK?

Download the file on your Android device, open it from your notifications or the Downloads app, and allow your browser or file manager to install unknown apps if Android asks. Then tap Install and open OutVQ.

Is it safe to install an APK?

Only install APKs from sources you trust. The home page lists a SHA-256 value for the file, and you can compare it with the file you downloaded to check that it has not been changed.

Using OutVQ

How do I add a task?

Type what you need to do and OutVQ works out the date for you, so “Call Mike tomorrow” becomes a task with a date you can adjust. You can also speak a task, or share a link, file or text into OutVQ from another app.

What are the buckets?

Tasks sit in a bucket: Inbox, Next actions, Projects, Waiting for, Someday/Maybe, Reference or Done. You can also choose where a task moves when you complete it.

How do reminders work?

Pick a due date and time and OutVQ sends a gentle reminder on your phone. You can also set a priority and choose whether to be reminded at the due time or when you arrive nearby.

What are arrival reminders?

Attach a place to a task and, if you switch it on, OutVQ nudges you when you get there. This needs location access, which you can refuse. The app can still be used without it.

How does voice capture work?

Tap the microphone and speak your task. The capture screen shows a timer and a “Stop and transcribe” button. After transcription, the text comes back to your device for you to check before you save it.

Privacy

Where are my tasks stored?

On your device. Your tasks, attachments and settings are not synced to us, and they stay there until you delete them, clear the app’s storage or uninstall OutVQ.

What data leaves my phone?

Only what a feature needs. A voice recording is sent to our server for transcription and is deleted as soon as it has been transcribed. A place search or map preview sends the search text or coordinates to our server and to Google Maps. Arrival reminders use your location on your device, and no history of where you have been is uploaded.

Why does OutVQ ask for permissions?

Microphone is for voice capture. Location, including in the background, is for optional arrival reminders and place search. Notifications and exact alarms are so reminders arrive on time, and file access is for attachments and content you share in. You can refuse or withdraw any of them in your Android settings, and the related feature will then stop working.

Does OutVQ show ads or sell my data?

No. The app contains no advertising and we do not sell personal data.

How do I delete my data?

Most of it exists only on your device, so you can delete tasks in the app, clear the app’s storage or uninstall OutVQ. For anything else, email mail@outvq.com. The privacy policy explains your rights in full.

Only Google Analytics cookies, and only if you accept them in the banner. You can change your choice at any time with in the footer.
